The Life Changing Transition

Metamorphosis

The word metamorphosis refers to the process of change in appearance, character or circumstance in a particular thing or being. The most common example of a metaphoric change is a caterpillar and its process of change into a butterfly. There are four specific stages in this transition, they are: the egg stage, larva, pupa and the adult. Eggs are laid on plants by the female butterfly and these plants become food for the hatching caterpillars. I use this similarity in contrast to our spiritual growth. When our sins have been forgiven   and we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord through baptism & the holy spirit, this is the stage where development starts. It is required that we feed on the word of God in order for our growth to take place. Through growth, we will possess the fruit of the spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 - 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Just like the cocoon process our growth takes time but it is required that you and I go through it in order for us to gain strength enough to fly. The greatest destinies are preceded by the most painful paths. We sometimes need to be tested before God can entrust us with his full power. When Christ was on the cross he felt forsaken by the Father as he was in tremendous pain but what an assurance we have that even when we feel forsaken by God he never leaves or forsakes us

The Transition Stage (Pupa)

In the life of the caterpillar, after it is fully grown it becomes a pupa. Though it may look like nothing is going on, big changes are happening inside. When we submit ourselves to God big changes take place in our lives.  Renewal starts from our mind then will eventually manifest on the outside. If you have purposed in your mind that you will live a victorious life through Jesus then I guarantee that by the help of God you will do just that. A committed mind will result in a committed life.

It is highly important that you know that you are in the world but is not of it, we can live a transformed life here on earth realizing that we are but pilgrims in a strange land awaiting our departure to our heavenly home. We must live in the light of eternity.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Reproductive Stage (Adult)

After the pupa stage is complete the caterpillar skin is shed and is now transformed in a butterfly ready for takeoff. At this point the metamorphosis process is complete and can be repeated with the stage of reproduction. As Christians it is impossible to grow without conversion. We cannot be lukewarm and expect to excel in greatness. Change must take place within our lives that reflects God. An effective prayer life is required, daily fasting and the reading of the word of God is likewise as important. When you fully submit yourself to God you will see a change in your character. It is then and only then when you will discover true peace and love.

There is always a purpose for everything that we go through. Whatever it is that we go through can be used to our advantage. Trust the process.
